Its a small'ish company so I knew cost would be an issue - I've already trimmed my rate down, but I cant really come much further down.
I wouldnt mind so much but Im not "that" expensive.

Once I've taken out my monthly train fair and monthly car parking - I dont really need/want that much. However I don't want to be working at a dreadful rate.

I'm prepared to let this one simmer away and hope they come up with a plan

The 15 year old school kid who made £14k selling sweets at school, by my reckoning he owes £2,333 in VAT and £2,024 in CT, anyone got the number for Hector?

            Home again

            Knackered again

TBH, I find NewClientCorp a rather dispiriting place to spend the day. It's a huge barn of a place, and there must be a couple of hundred people all in the same room - we're not even crammed that close together either. All available wall areas have been festooned with enormous posters about customer service and crap like that, which I always find hugely irritating. There's not an iota of beauty or grace about the place, which is burdensome for an aesthetically-minded soul like myself

Looks like I might be losing my prime real estate desk overlooking the pond. I am being awkward about it though.

When I was at school, there was a kid who did that...made loads but after about a month or so got it all confiscated as it was putting the school tuck shop out of business

His parents came in to complain but were told either to accept it and put it down to a loss and bad experience or their son could enjoy a "break" from school for about a year

Not that it would have been a loss in any way after the money he made in the month he was trading at the school...
