Needs must I am afraid, worse case set up a dummy Facebook profile just for your Blog Page, integrate it so new articles are automatically posted and you could pretty much leave it at that slowly building up content, as for Twitter I think that would be better as its more interactive, that can be soley the blog nothing personal at all

If you want it as a Plan B it will most certainly need a social presence, and G+ doesn't count!

At least with Twitter you can set your displayed names (full name and @handle) to anything you like - no reason anybody should be able to tie it back to you personally, short of getting law enforcement to ask Twitter with a warrant.

Not sure how FB handle accounts that are just registering a brand page - I think that might also allow you to keep personal stuff private, but I'm not sure.
