I finally got forced out; just got back from Sainsbury's
It was the bin liners that broke me in the end. The kitchen bin had been compressed so many times the potato peelings at the bottom were turning into diamonds, and I'd forgotten to get bin liners the last few times I'd been shopping. So I had to empty the bin, which means going out to where the cars are anyway, so I went.
Bonus purchase: some tenderloin pork fillet, which I intend to dice and use in a cider casseroleComment

I just stick everything organic in the compost heap.
However, I have a fine collection of plastics, glass and cardboard that is off to recycling on Thursday.Comment

It must be said that the compost heap merely grows larger & larger and is never actually used to provide compost.
I suspect that it's very sour inside.
Maybe I should turn it all over.

Rumour has it there's some change to the rules coming along in the New Year and they'll have to go back to making us separate it. If this is true, investing in the plant where it can be taken in mixed will have been a complete waste of moneyComment
