I don't suppose this is what you mean, but one night on a country lane on my motorbike, I went round a bend to see a van overtaking a car coming at me. I was trying to work out where to go when the van switched to full beam.

I was completely blinded, headed for where I thought the white line was and when it suddenly went dark, skidded to a halt.

Dragged the (stalled) bike to the side, threw up and spent five minutes trying to work out if this was Heaven or Hell.

Bloody hell!
That's the kind of thing I meant - not the tunnel stuff... I've had a few of those - most recently when I stepped out to cross the road and a bike doing well over 100 missed me by about 2 inches - no headlight, didn't hear or see it. Swore for about 10min.
