Ah; I add a little bit of flour with a pinch of mustard powder; not purist at all, but as I said, you have to do what works with cloggy produce. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014 -
I'll be growing my own next year, so won't have to worry about that!Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostAh; I add a little bit of flour with a pinch of mustard powder; not purist at all, but as I said, you have to do what works with cloggy produce.

Morning all.

Another dark depressing morn, not improved by me waking up at 3:50 & taking ages to go back to sleep.

I suspect the poor sleep was due to my not working my nuts off on the lawn prep yesterday.
In other news, the bit I seeded last week is now sprouting a bit.

I look forward to the first cut.

Off down town now, first to sit with the hoi polloi, then off to B&Q to buy stuff & work out if this cooker hood thing will fit.
If so I'll be back down there with the car to buy it & the extraction kit.
The core drill to put the hole through the wall is about £60.

Oh you will; perhaps because the country's so flat and the ground's soggy, the spuds seem to have more liquid than in other places. Maybe you can grow them in raised beds.Originally posted by norrahe View PostI'll be growing my own next year, so won't have to worry about that!

I'm building raised beds, but not for the spuds, they'll be grown in spud bags.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostOh you will; perhaps because the country's so flat and the ground's soggy, the spuds seem to have more liquid than in other places. Maybe you can grow them in raised beds.
We've actually got some good soil in the garden that drains well and is a good mix of clay and sand.Comment

I now have my weekly meeting with line manager who doesn't like me and will spend the next hour telling me what I have done wrong, even if I haven't done anything wrong
