Virgin Media's cable broadband - which is normally excellent and reliable, here at least - went down some time between me deciding to go to the chip shop and finishing my dinner. So I went to the pub

Got home and it's working again

Still, the book I'm taking to the pub on quiet nights at the moment is R.V. Jones' Most Secret War, which I've never read before, although of course I remember watching the BBC TV stuff when it came out in the 1970s. So it wasn't a complete waste of time

Good book.

Read it yonks ago.

It started off my collection of Ultra books.

Of which I have many.

The strangest in a way was the book by Paul Gannon(?) about Colossus, which mentions "Parsons' Folly" at the end.

"Parsons' Folly" is a tramway just up the hill from me.

Fortunately I purchased a dongle, so that disables the crippleware part of it & gives me the whole 9 yards.
