Back from a lovely weekend in Guernsey.

That being said, in one of the novels he visits Leicester; to be precise, he goes to an address on Victoria Park Road. The address, however, has an odd number; and as Victoria Park Road only has houses on one side, there are no premises with odd numbers there

Turns out that, early in his career, Colin Dexter taught Classics at the Wyggeston Grammar School for Boys (as was) down there, adjacent to the University, and may in fact have lived on Victoria Park Road.

That school was also the alma mater of David and Richard Attenborough, who lived in College House on the university campus, their father being the principal. But that was a few years before Dexter taught there.

Train delayed, had to stand on train as it was so packed, got caught in a heavy downpour and got soaked, forgot pass to get into clientco and also forgot my mobile.

Am cold wet and miserable.
