Well, I assumed it was the Chelsea - Atletico Madrid match, which finished about 15 mins ago. Don't think there are any other matches on tonight.

I rather wish that I'd designed the new PCB with a bit more reference to the old one.

Made it home without incident. He's watching the news and playing Sudoku, so I assume whatever it was is finished.

You might ask, “Why would someone write code in a grotesque language that exposes raw memory addresses? Why not use a modern language with garbage collection and functional programming and free massages after lunch?” Here’s the answer: Pointers are real. They’re what the hardware understands. Somebody has to deal with them. You can’t just place a LISP book on top of an x86 chip and hope that the hardware learns about lambda calculus by osmosis.

I did briefly consider rewriting the pile of tulipe in C, but then again, maybe I could move some resistors & such like about & get the same effect.

What I really can't understand is quite why it's all so obscure.

Must have seemed like a good idea at the time.

And judging by the timing loops, it's hand crafted to work with the old magazine buggy rather than the one I've just built from random bits & pieces.
