It's really slow, because the "disk" is a disk image file, which is on a real disk hooked up to a USB2 port on the WiFi router. It started out optimistically suggesting 12 minutes (which is about right for an internal drive) but it's looking more like two-and-a-half hours at the momentComment

Hmm, it's now of the opinion that it needs to back up 50GB. As the last successful backup was about half four yesterday afternoon and I haven't really used the machine for much since then, I'm wondering where 50GB of new data has come from
Or maybe the repairs to the extended attributes B-tree have made it lose track of what's new and what isn't.
Ho hum
Just checked, and the ClientCo folder is over 20GB. So that's a nice chunk of space I'll be able to free soonComment

Nice to see the local Fire and Rescue Service tweeting to remind people to check their smoke alarms at the same time as putting their clocks back. Shame, though, that people won't be doing that until OctoberComment

Now I've got into thinking about archiving strategies for current ClientCo stuff. There was stuff from the last time I was there which was useful getting up and running this time, but no way am I leaving a 20GB folder on there on the off chance they have more work for me.
Thinking that gzipping it and uploading it to Dropbox or S3 (or both) would be a good plan, as then I could get it wherever I happened to be.Comment

I suspect I'll get up at 7 tomorrow morning, which will correspond nicely with me getting up at 6 last week.
I feel it's necessary to break oneself gently into this BST business.Comment
