And here's one I just built on a breadboard:
with a little help from the LM339 datasheet to find out where the ground and V+ pins were.
Adding a 1M resistor between pin 2 and pin 5 gives a little bit of positive feedback to make the transition from light to dark happen at a different voltage from the transition from dark to light.
This gives a touch of hysteresis to make the switching snappy & get rid of oscillations at the trigger level.
Simples.
WTF is the problem then?
