Yes its a bit impractical and possibly stupid but I'm paying exactly what buying it from a trade auction would cost me and £2000 less than any equivalent ones on autotrader.
The dealer is roughly breaking even on the deal and paying over the odds on my trade in. The only reason he agreed to the sale is that the loss at auction would be greater....
