You need an online reputation? Google it and pay for one. Bob will provide. You need a professional network? Don't bother with content; sponsor a couple of Meet-ups and everyone will think you're a guru just because you held the opening speech to introduce the proper gurus and they'll like you because you paid for the drinks (on YourCo expenses of course).

I wonder if Zeity's next post will be from the library with the great unwashed.

          First written warning.

I was winding the hr twat all through the meeting by grinning at him.

          He doesn't like me.

What actually happened to kick all this off?

                Yep.

Add to the professional network by turning up at a conference and giving a presentation on really easy stuff that you make out as complex. There's a 45 minute presentation on something at the UK Oracle User Group next month, which I reckon I could implement from scratch in less than that time, but people will turn up and ooh and aah.

                  +1

I loved doing 4 days a week. When DD1 was born, I worked 5 days in 4 so that I still got the day at home.

Sadly, I was permie at the time, and the client was paying the company £2000 a day for my time. I was on under £40k a year.

                    This.

I'm doing 4 days at current client and I the rate I get for the 4 days is the same as my last gig.

Although MY day off tomorrow will involve going food shopping and going into town.
