The rice took the edge off the heat, that's why they have bread or rice to accompany these dishes. ( I was taught to cook curries by Asian flatmates at uni).
I was trying out a new recipe from a cookbook that HyperD bought for me ( Cafe Spice Namaste, New Wave Indian cooking by Cyrus Todiwala), and followed the recipe to the letter, might just leave in the chillies and not the chilli powder next time.
I do like a mango lassi with my curries but find it a tad too filling.Comment
