Panic over. They've just realised that getting me up to speed on the other project when one of the other devs already knows it makes no sense, so I'm taking his work and carrying on with the old project for the rest of the week.
Luckily my dev box on old project has broken after the CVS update and the build manager reckons it'll take an hour or so to fix
