My train was 30 minutes late today. I arived and was told it was 1 minute. 25 minutes later a freight train came through. Seems it had broken down. Why can't they move freight in the middle of the night or weekends?

I used to commute from Kent into London on a journey that usually took 50 minutes. As I caught a very early train Journey times used to range from 45 minutes - 75 minutes depending on the random route used (especially on Monday mornings). It also skipped the intermediate stop so the last 40 minutes was a clear run.

That was until the day the driver had the runs and did the journey at full pelt. We left at 6:30 and arrived in Victoria at 6:55 .
