              Things aren't going well.

They are handing my project over to someone else, I find out today from this someone else and not my line manager.

They feel "the project hasn't progressed".

The main reason for the project not progressing is they refused the budget to get people in with the necessary skills to start doing things.

They want me to stay on and report to the permie manager.

The permie manager couldn't manage her way out of a paper bag.

T'interweb seems to be working again.

It obviously wasn't a problem with Virgin Media, otherwise they would have been able to help and would have put it on their status page.

oh and my line manager decided to schedule a meeting with me first thing tomorrow, needless to say I declined it.

At this moment in time I'm not sure if I want to stay on any longer.

One thing I learnt at that particular clientco is a certain level of equanimity. In other words, I stopped giving a tulip while I was there.

By the way, their internet banking has fallen apart again this week for the third time this month. Apparently the conumentenbond are demanding a Dutch central bank investigation into the stability and quality of the systems there; that would be a laugh a minute, especially for testers and EDP auditors. But the central bank would probably hire a bunch of numpties anyway. Or Bob.
