£1700 for a reconditioned one. £2000 for a reconditioned one with genuine VW parts.

That includes the clutch and the fitting, though, and I'd guessed at about £1500, so not too far off.

We have a limit of £10 each to spend for Christmas. Which will probably get to £15 when I go over budget.

We don't do anniversary presents, Valentines or birthdays (apart from something small from the children).

Anyone with money can spend money, but try and find something meaningful for a strict budget and it's much harder.
