I have one of my esteemed customers in here working on this final year project (not 3rd year project coz this is his 4th).

Attempting to put a resistor and an LDR (light dependent resistor) on a piece of veroboard.

First attempt

Mainly because all the components were soldered to one track, so there was a short from the positive supply to the negative supply.

2.5 hours later we still haven't got to the stage of it working.



3 wires.

2 components.

1 bit of veroboard.

How difficult can it possibly be?



Is it my fault?

Should I have shot him on his first day 3 years ago?

It finally works.

There's more solder on it than you'd need to repair a kettle.

despite the fact that I tested it & it does.

Turned out he was measuring the 5V rail instead.
