Yeah. That worked. It was bloody packed, and took 3 hours to get home; via the worst service station in the world.

I have used an ATLAS (remember them?) to find an alternative route down to J17 for next week, avoiding J24-J17 on the M6. Lets hope it works.

I refuse to get a sat nav because the road layout structures are not that complicated where I am.

Unfortunately my memory is awful and Mrs Gonzo cannot read a map so whenever we do a journey somewhere new I have to write down the directions and then Mrs Gonzo reads them out as we go along.

The directions for one 300 mile journey that we did were:

Follow Highway 1 until it joins Highway 2 then follow Highway 2 until we reach the destination.
