pimp has just called.

The tech lead wants me on board, but the hiring manager is away until monday/tuesday.

Pimp said its as good as mine. I'm not believing a word he says until he has sent a contract.

I failed dismally yesterday.

Chap brought in a Garmin satellite thingie that the power connector had fallen off of.

Which, oddly, is remarkably common these days, what with this useless lead free solder everyone has to use.

So, after soldering the thing back on, I couldn't quite get the important bits to solder, i.e. the actual connectory bits.

Can't understand why, unless the multilayer PCB was sucking all the heat out of the soldering iron.

Eventually did a botch job onto the battery terminals instead.

Should last at least five minutes.
