Zeity has made another zapper.
This time for Zeity's dad's telly, the zapper for which is wearing out, not a good thing when a new one is £45.
So, having got the zapper to zap in approved fashion, Zeity has now fashioned a black plast case for said zapper, with prettily coloured buttons.
After some judicious filing & reaming & drilling & suchlike, the case fits the circuit board and the buttons still work.
Next, to reduce the amount of current the damn thing takes when it's idle, Zeity wanted to make it go to sleep.
This he has now done & voila! instead of taking 1mA all the time, it now takes about 1uA.

The code is horrid though.Comment

And just think, I'm getting paid (admittedly not a lot, but every little helps) to play with this stuff.

In fact, I spend far more time playing with this stuff than 99% of my esteemed customers do & they actually spend not inconsiderable sums of their own money so to do.Comment

Mind you, they do have to sit through boring lectures, so maybe it puts them off.
I've found that the ones who are really interested tend to be mature students who've actually experienced the glorious world of work.Comment
