      Any suggestions?
How thick are the branches? If they are only a couple of inches then you can buy a garden chipper for half that, if not less.

      Bonfire.

Put some of the pile at the bottom of the garden as a Hedgehog den.

Long thin branches work well as garden canes.

Branches are different sizes, I read a few reviews about the chippers in DIY stores and they are no good for fresh wood.

Pile is very big, and I don't have anywhere that I could burn it without leaving a visable scar.

I just removed this stuff from the bottom of the garden because it was effecting the trees.

A friend just told me about a mobile chipper, they come chip it and take the stuff away. They are cheaper as they sell your chips.

I pruned an old apple tree once.

It bore one last large extremely hard apple.

                And died.

I'm beginning to see a bit of a pattern here.

It's probably your soil. My garden is stuffed with plants that are far too big for it but I can't kill them. All the local mogs and foxes have had a go too.
