Have you considered the role of the cattle prod in education?
It's fairly incredible really.
What you have to do is work through a handout that introduces you to MPLAB.
This shows you how to create, edit & faff about with files, create a project & build the damn thing.
Then you have to get some <very simple spelling type> errors out of the file you will eventually modify to do the 4 parts of the assignment.
Then you have to start on the assignment itself.
Whereupon you have to start thinking for yourself.
Which for some seems to be a tad difficult.
So they sit there with an inane grin on their face waiting for me to tell them what to do.
The first task can be accomplished with two assembler instructions that, in the event that you were awake and/or compos mentis when you did it, were used in the frigging handout you just completed.
