I was on duty for taking my niece's lad to school today - she dropped him off without a coat

So I had to improvise and put a sort of neutral waterproof on him. I don't think it went too well with the barbie umbrella he carried

I hope none of his mates saw him - he'll be scarred for life

My parents' place seems to be turning into a swamp.

They had the roof tiled about 22 years ago which has led to damp in the tops of the walls that never existed with the slate roof.

They had a damp proof course (silicone injection) installed about 16 years ago which doesn't seem to have done much. In fact the rising damp is quite spectacular.

Also, the board floors in the front & middle rooms were removed & concrete floors installed instead, which has markedly worsened the rising damp in those rooms too.

All in all, those jobs were a complete waste of time & money.
