under bridges is fine... I once hitched across US & would sleep under freeway bridges - dry fairly safe if a little noisey... they always had a flat area that made a good sleeping are - as long as you didn't roll over

You can hide from tornados under them, according to a film I saw.

Apparently you should only do this in films, though, as in real life the tornado kills you
