I was going to make a jolly post about my conference time, but I can't say anything before I say:

Meanwhile, back on the conference circuit, the prize for Least Expected Conversational Opening goes to the chap who joined myself and a former colleague with the words "I'm going to redo my porn site. I threw it together a few years ago in a couple of days, but I'm going to re-implement it in Django."
This came from a chap who hired me into two separate businesses in the space of six months. I'd always assumed that this alone established how savvy he is - but the choice of Django truly sets the seal on it
About an hour later I was catching up with one of the creators of Django (who happens to also be a former colleague, and also hired twice by Our Mutual Friend at the same two companies), but sadly I forgot to tell him of the PR treat that was coming their wayComment

Dad is reported to be slightly improved again today. It's a bit frustrating that the medical assessment ward don't have any visiting hours during the morning, so we have to wait until 4pm before we can see him today. The treatment is fairly intensive there though, so they probably want to keep most of the day clear of interruptions I guess.
