Also when I was in M&S earlier, I found those "Pikelet" things again.... they are a bit like skinny (not as thick) crumpets.... delish toasted!
Scrummy, ain't they? It's another of those delicious, simple 'peasant foods'. Make up some batter and bung it on the griddle / stove / stone while it's still hot. Voilà! Scotch pancakes or pikelets, according to your local tradition.

Ah ha - I didn't know they were the same as "scotch pancakes" - interesting!!
Pikelets - I might just google them and see if I can do anything other than toasting them and putting the EEC butter mountain on them
