Greetings denizens
The assistant manager (or whatever his title may be) of the pub spotted me trundling along the pavement tonight and offered me a lift, thereby getting me back to the hotel fifteen minutes earlier than usual
I'm still not sure about this flu business - I think I have something, but it doesn't seem any worse than a mild summer cold.
Still, tomorrow's Wednesday; it'll take a tough little virus to beat me out of the last three day's invoicing of the month
Even if I have got the flu, I'll have to go in to the office to get my timesheet signed. I might as well stay there and rack up billable time. If I'm too unwell to even do that then I can hardly be well enough to drive home.
Ergo, if I'm well enough to get myself home, I'm well enough to book time; so I might as well do so. If I'm too unwell to drive home, I won't make it into the office anyway, which means I won't get my timesheet signed, and that is not going to happen. It follows that I am fit for work until such time as my timesheet is signed, even if I have to be taken into the office on a stretcher.
Contractor Logic: given the sign-off, everything else follows with a lucrative inevitabilityComment

Ah, Radio 4's Book of the Week...
I was a bit late heading to ClientOrg this morning and heard it then. It's some book about Facebook and its creation. Unfortunately, Mark Zuckerburg (sp?) refused to participate.
As a result, today's episode, which is supposedly about how he first started implementing his "idea", is riddled with sentences that begin "He probably...", "It's likely that he...", "Maybe he...", "He probably thought...", "Perhaps he..."
Then it gets to the exciting bit: he downloaded the pictures of all the other people at Harvard from Harvard's web server to his laptop.
This is of course presented in terms of him using l33t h4xx0r sk1llz to achieve this end. Obviously, every 13 year old boy with any geekery about them knows how to do this, as it's the best way of getting the dirty pics off a pr0n site without having to sit through loads of ads and viruses
Quote: "He was smarter than anybody Harvard employed to build the system."
Yup, he really showed those guys who never expected anybody at Harvard to understand an HTTP GET

Goodnight denizens
Snoozy time for me, in the hope that I don't wake up feeling all diseased and virus-ridden ( <- like that) tomorrow... or that, if I do, it isn't so obvious that I'm ejected from ClientOrg's offices by bouncers in HazMed suits
