He quickly withdrew his foot, saying "Oh, I'm sorry": the gentleman snapped "Thank you" in a tone of voice that implied that he wasn't actually grateful, as the lady proceeded on her way down the steps
I've never been sure about that one: I understand that she was perfectly ladylike in simply stopping and waiting for the gentleman to deal with it (and she never swivelled her head so much as 1° from straight ahead) - yet I think I prefer the kind of woman who would turn round and say "OI! YER TREADING ON ME DRESS!"

The record shows that this is the third time I've been in this particular room
I was, according to the last three months' records, first in here in early May; then again at the end of June.
However, I suspect I was also in here during April, but the records (at least the ones I can access) don't go back that far.
Only once in the last three months have I had the same room two weeks in a row. I think that may have also happened once at Edgware in 2007.
I can tell you're all fascinated
