i replaced it with another motorola. a silver clam shell thing.

I used to have a Motorola StarTac - one of the first clamshell style phones to appear I think. In fact I seem to recall having 3 of them...

coffee
drivel
verify backup
check shed 1 for suitable preservative, primer and paint for gate
get some supplies from wickes
finish putting door together
walk dog
prepping / painting gate
have haircut

there must be some big backup drives that i can partition into mac and window formats. a few terrabyte of data...

Did you check out some "nazz" drives? I recall I saw that my QNAP device has some support for Apple stuff.

In fact a quick Google has just revealed this article about using the NAS with Time Machine, but I'm not familiar enough with Apple kit to know whether it's of any use to you:

i got offered a permie job a few days ago by the last client.

i even thought about it today. there would be some advantages....

i don't want to do that though. really, i don't.

but how long should we wait?

Nice to have that as a fallback though - maybe have a look around for a bit then go back to them if nothing else turns up?

can't be arsed. not that bothered

never even tried a les paul. though i have played a telecaster.

My brother in law has made examples of both of those. His Les Paul looks stunning.
