Checking through those few emails that weren't spam or from mailing lists, I found one from Best Western Hotels - I stayed in one of their places a few weeks back. Suckered in by the prospect of a Prize Draw (and having nothing better to do until the Shipping Forecast comes on) I followed the link.

The first question asked:

Having contracted in both media and market research companies over the last twelve months, I checked both those boxes and clicked "Next", whereupon I was told:

Thank you for answering these questions. Unfortunately, we have already received a sufficient number of responses from people who responded as you did.

Therefore we do not have any more questions for you today. You will still be entered into the prize draw.

Thank you for your time.

I feel all rejected and useless now

I never realised that one might choose to participate in one of those surveys, only to fall at the first hurdle on the grounds that they already knew enough about "people like you"
