There's a brilliant pun on chimpanzees and spectacles that I'm dying to use, right now.

      I wonder what it is?

Well it's got to be more reliable than ParcelFarce or CityFink.

Actually, that's not a bad price for guaranteed specialist delivery. And if her son does his back in moving the box, he'll be kicking himself. Well, he won't, but you know what I mean.

        I think I'd have paid the £300.

The distant-vision ones make things fairly close look smaller and have distorted my depth perception, with the result that I have so far missed three door handles

Ah well, I'll get used to them eventually, I hope
Have you worn specs before, or is this the first time?

            Hey, where is everyone?

All cleared off after the kilopost, I see.

Been wearing them since I was about thirteen, but I've always had the one pair (for short sight) before now. They said back then that if I also used them for reading, even though I didn't need them for that, it would help stop my sight getting worse too quickly.

Over thirty years later, I'm finally at the point of needing both distance and reading glasses

I hadn't had my eyes checked in thirteen or fourteen years. Looking at the road signs today, I concluded that I've probably been driving with inadequate sight correction for several years

Should give the RAC chap a bit of a shock if he breaks down on the M6

Hmm. I'm in a similar place.

Suddenly needed them at 10 years old. My prescription has barely changed since. Yet now, quite suddenly, I cannot see things that are close up.

I suppose I ought to go get some new ones...

                      Good-O!

                      Have a few for me.

I'm going to bed soon 'cos I've got a headache, I ache, I'm sneezing and coughing.
