Did you go for Debian in the end? Haven't played with it for years - remember a mate at uni getting one of the first linux distro's and installing it from 8 floppy disks. How you finding Eclipse?

Eclipse is great! Not exactly VS but good nonetheless!

I bought Linux Format at the weekend and it came with Lenny! And a decent set of NVIDIA drivers...

I've got a copy of Minix at home that I paid £45 for.

It's on 5.25" floppies. 360k ones.

Hopefully your family will now be helped to help him make the most of his potential whilst assisting him in coming to terms with the trickier social stuff.

I find it rather alarming that I've learned to use some of the techniques for social interaction myself... I suspect that I'm on that spectrum myself... but then, I'm an engineer, so what would you expect?
