Just off out to Halfords to get a headlight bulb and a new footpump. I can hardly contain my excitement

          Footpump?

Wot's wrong with the electric ones then?

I'm testing my super new ZeitGhost Battery Charger Controller(tm).

It turns on with a low battery voltage ok.

It should turn off with a battery voltage of 14V(ish). 13.8V is a fully charged off load 12V battery.

I just hope the 45 year old battery charger it's connected to is up to the excitement of it all.

I got the car a new electric pump last weekend - the old one's bit-that-goes-on-the-valve no longer held on tight enough, which meant I had to stoop to hold it in place. Furthermore, the automatic cutoff had never worked on it, so I was forever disconnecting, checking with the gauge, and reconnecting until I got to the right pressure

The new one's digital and generally whizzy

The 12V outlet on my car is dodgy.
