So, I spent an hour or so downloading and installing the necessary software, and checked the relevant code out of Subversion so it could be explained to me... at which point a chap from IT turned up to remove my computer and replace it with a new one
So I had to start the whole process all over again - and now I'm done for the second time, the chap who was going to explain the code to me has disappeared
