I have a staffie - who is great with the kids and Lab who is grumpy. I would have a staff anyday around kids if they are brought up with them.
I reckon we'll probably go for something like a Golden Retriever.Where are we going? And what’s with this hand basket?Comment

If you want a dog to go with small kids get a Staffy
There is a reason they are known as "Nanny Dogs", there's not a breed better with kids. They are increadably thick skinned and very very tolerant of anything the kids can throw at them."Being nice costs nothing and sometimes gets you extra bacon" - Pondlife.Comment

Not a big fan of terriers myself, would rather go for a bigger dog. Although as you say it must be a an intelligent breed that is good with kids - the shortlist at the moment is a retriever, Welsh border or Husky.Where are we going? And what’s with this hand basket?Comment
