I'm not certain if they know how long they'd have to wait. I sometimes suspect the pimps are keeping them in the dark about the precise length of time I've got left here, in the hope of getting them so convinced that I'm what they want that they decide to wait once they actually find out the truth
The pimps have been needling away at me as well, trying to work out ways in which I could walk out on this contract. I've told them that as far as I'm concerned, if I sign up for an eight week contract, I do eight weeks. They seem to have grudgingly accepted that I won't compromise my principles, and that as this client got me in to cover work they didn't have the in-house resources to deal with, they can't get one of their own people to do it (a bizarre suggestion - why would they have hired me if they had somebody in-house who was free to do the work?) and won't be happy with a replacement (if the replacement is up-to-scratch, why wouldn't the agency put them forward for the Cambridge gig?)
Still, I may blow the interview and then we won't have to worry about it anymoreComment

I like happy problems!
If you are that principled (which you are!) then tell the client in the interview the truth!Comment
