Where are we going? And what’s with this hand basket? -
Just waiting for a certain insurance company to call me back so we can discuss why I appear to have been paying over the odds for our buildings and contents insurance, and why they appear to have estimated the rebuild cost for our house at double what it should be.

This is the third chip shop I've tried up here so far. The Fountain is OK, although the batter wasn't really up to scratch. I haven't tried the fish from the Little Fisherman yet, but the chips looked distinctly unprepossessing, although they tasted OK. Now to try Murgatroyd's...Comment

Hmm... not at all bad. Good-sized haddock. Batter nice and crispy, although it was a bit thin in places. Chips are chunky, decently crisp on the outside and very light and fluffy on the inside.Originally posted by NickFitz View Post
Overall, probably the best of the three I've tried so far - however, it's also the most expensive. Still, like the Fountain, it's just over the road from the hotel, so it may be a bit of a toss-up between them in future.

As you can possibly imagine, I can personally vouch for quite a few. The one (now two) at the Black Country Museum are rather good, though that is directly attributable to their use of beef dripping
