Woman convicted of assault charge
The former wife of a champion jockey has been found guilty of assault.
Insurance claims adviser Emma Witt, 27, had told Bury St Edmunds magistrates she "had her head kicked in" at The Star pub, Lidgate, Suffolk, in January.
The court heard Julie Fallon, 41, ex-wife of Kieren Fallon, forced her to the floor and punched and kicked her.
Fallon, from Wigan, Greater Manchester was given a one-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay £400 compensation and £750 court costs.
She had denied assault and said she was defending herself when Miss Witt approached her "looking for trouble".How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't thinkComment
