He's referring me to a neurologist, as although the brain scan showed nothing major (no tumour or bleeding or anything like that), there are signs of "wear and tear" which at my age is unusual.
It may be that it's normal and that most people don't have such a detailed CAT scan at my age, or it might not. It may be that I've had a series of mini-strokes, and that's what is causing the problems. It may be that the damage was caused by some really severe migraines, and I just didn't appreciate how bad they were.
My parents are both on medication to lower cholesterol (as a stroke preventative), and aspirin (as a stroke preventative), and beta-blockers.
I'm now on beta-blockers and aspirin. No prizes for guessing what the next prescription is going to be for.....
Got to ring the hospitals on Monday and see when they can see me if I go through BUPA. NHS waiting list is an average of 62 days at the moment.
