After all these years, I've finally had to look up how to read a resistor colour code.

It be one of they funny ones with lots of bands, more bands than any normal resistor could possibly want... 6.
However, after consulting a printout I made for the kiddies, it transpires than rather than being a very unusual value of 43010 ohms 2% tolerance, it was in fact a 4300 ohm resistor, 1% tolerance, 50ppm temp coefficient.
Gosh.
