Afternoon denizens
Just got back from the technical interview-style thingy - I was in the for an hour and three-quarters
Not sure I was at my best though
The first bit went very smoothly - their front-end specialist had knocked up a very badly-constructed web page with some JS that broke on IE and a few accessiblity issues. I was able to pretty much breeze through that no problem, and had time to chat to the bloke about various other projects I'd been involved in and so forth.
Then came the session dealing with another chap's dodgy PHP and unit testing. We got where we needed to be in the end, but I went braindead on a few occasions, which slowed things down slightly
On the other hand, I was able to get in convincing mentions of a few things related to the fact that, if I was writing something like that, I would have done it in a radically different way anyway. (In fact, it was only as we were drawing to a conclusion that I felt I was getting a real grasp of what the code was trying to achieve, although I still don't see why it was doing it that way - still, I think that was part of the point.)
Ah well, if they want me they want me, and if they don't they don't. No point fretting over itComment
