Ironically, because I was ill, they have been forced to keep the guy that the team lead told me "I can't see where he adds value, at all" to try to cover the job I was doing. Even though he knows nothing about it, told the DBA the wrong thing, which resulted in the system crashing repeatedly because one job had taken ALL the processing power of the machine

Hopefully it's just a matter of time then. As you say, give them a couple of days then drop them a line to let them know you're still around!

Arse, it's taken me all morning to get my ClientCo PC working so that I can email infrastructure to take a look at that lingering server issue. Sounds like they're going to be busy for a while

You'll have to retrieve it from outside my window in a minute. I haven't been able to use my ClientCo at all so far this week - granted that's not a massive inconvenience given the amount of work I have at the moment.

Lo and behold - I sent an email to remind them that it's a Euromillions rollover, and when I got back there was a voicemail from the team lead about coming back for a bit.

Sounds like it will be a very short term stint, but you never know - will ring them back in a bit when I've been through Jobserve (which won't take me too long)
