Just to cheer up those of you who think you have it bad....
Monday: Phone call from the school "Mr B, you're son has had a bit of an accident can you come and get him, we think he may need to go to the hospital."
Turns out he had been playing hockey on a concrete pitch - playing fields off limits cos their building a new school on 'em - and some bright spark had decided to shove a hockey stick between his ankles as he ran past full tilt. Needless to say he went arse over tit and came up looking like he'd done 3 rounds with Nigel Benn. Head, shoulder, hand, elbow, knees, ankles.......
So, off the the local A&E. Get there just as the first of a stream of ambulances from a major pile up on the local dual carriage way arrives. Minimum 3 hour wait while they deal with the carnage. Eventually patched up and sent on our way.
Teusday : Dumped by his girlfriend who promptly goes out with his best mate. First proper girl friend and he's gutted. Sits in his room listening to depressing music and refusing to talk to anyone.
Wednesday : Can you say "Deja VU"? - Phone call from the school "Mr B, you're son has had a bit of an accident can you come and get him, we think he may need to go to the hospital."
Appears one of his other mates had been taking the piss about his bad luck and lack of girlfriend. Son lamps him one and takes a second swing, misses and punches a brick wall, hard. Knuckle the size of a golf ball and lots of skin missing. Off to A&E again. No real wait this time but then x-rays etc and getting strapped up cos although the x-ray doesnt show anything clear he may still have chipped the bone or have a hairline fracture.
So, all in all, not a good week so far."Being nice costs nothing and sometimes gets you extra bacon" - Pondlife.Comment
