Just been to a team "meeting" where we were all given a nice letter saying "thanks for fixing out tulipe build system." along with a speech from upon high.

Can't spend it in the pub though, so no use. In drawer with the other similar letter.

Oh, and we have been told we can't come in on 22/23 Dec and 2 Jan. Doomed. We're all doomed.

I found out some time ago that I am on £2 an hour less than another contractor here, who is perceived (by others) as being less useful than me. I agreed to do the contract for this rate, so that is what I have done.

Now renewal is looming, I have brought the matter up. However in the current climate I would rather have another contract than another £2 an hour!!

I just knocked over a glass of water on my desk. The only paperwork to survive intact was that letter - the specs with all sorts of "implementation tweaks" scribbled on have been consigned to the bin
