I've probably gone over this on TPD before...

There's this but other than that it seems I haven't. Then again, it's not something I'm proud of - falling into the river when drunk isn't exactly a major achievement

They did a good job of warming me back up at the Royal Infirmary though. It took several hours, but they did it, and even took me home in an ambulance

In fact, if you're totally fscked and only medical treatment can save you, I'd recommend them every time
You're not on your own - I chose a summer's day though. The first time, I managed to leave my bike on the tow path... The second time, we both went in. My driving licence hasn't been the same since.

      Hi EO

I managed to drop my chips (wrapped) on the towpath as I went head-first towards the water. After PC Ron Fletcher (Whom God Preserve) pulled me out about forty-five minutes later, he gathered them up before he led me round to where the ambulance was waiting, and the ambulance crew took them on board. Later that day, after I'd been dropped off at home in NHS pyjamas and slippers, I found them at the bottom of the "Patient's Property" bag that contained my soaking wet clothing

They did finish up hanging around (which was bad of me as that cost the NHS money that could have been saved if I'd returned them) but I think they ended up in the stuff I disposed of when I moved to Cheltenham... only to have my beloved leave me for somebody else, and move back with a lot less stuff

It's the last time I cull my possessions for the sake of fitting into somebody else's home...

It's a hard lesson to learn, but a necessary one nontheless.

Indeed. At least I didn't get rid of any books or computer magazine archives

Anyway, I think it's about time to sign off now - I want to write up some stuff about non-recursive directed acyclic graph traversal, the Decorator pattern, and the implementation of state machines in languages that have functions as first order objects tomorrow

Night, EO - have a good one

P.S. The car needed about £300 of work, but is now MOTd again - as some of it related to corrosion in the vicinity of suspension mountings, I think it was worth doing it properly

Night Nick - take care mate

That's not so bad then... I wasn't suggesting doing it anything other than properly. Honest

I'm sure you weren't, but there's "properly" and there's "properly"... I feel that with a car of that age, it's best to do things "properly" even if doing things "properly" would be "sufficient"...
