I think grafting an ISA bus disk controller card in would be easier... and I've got some of those...
I'm greatly in favour of doing as little as possible to get things to "work"...
I'm greatly impressed by the idea of connecting 8" diskette drives though... I've almost forgotten the resounding <clunk> as the head solenoid pulls in
And decisions decisions, whether to use single sided or double sided diskettes and drives... by dint of a curiosity of hardware design, single sided diskettes won't work in a double sided drive & vice versa... the index hole is in a different location.
Black pudding made sense in the days before the war, when working class families kept a pig in the back yard and slaughtered it in the autumn - they did so because they were poor, and needed every last bit of nutrition. Pigs were virtually free food made out of a year's leftovers.
I still have two pigsties at the bottom of my garden... sans pigs of course, since they banned that nice little earner back in the 70s.
There are more empty pigsties further along the road.
I can remember people cooking up pigswill back in the 50s... noxious... the pigs liked it though.
And next door's lawn still has evidence of the wallows which one notices when cutting the grass.
