At least she's back in the comfort of her own home, which will help her a lot.Originally posted by NickFitz View PostAfternoon denizens
I just spoke to my mum - I decided not to phone her until lunchtime as she'd be catching up on sleep, but she'd definitely be awake now because of her diabetes - she has to eat at very specific times.
She still doesn't sound very well at all
On the other hand, she's happy to be home
The other day, in hospital, they forgot to give her one of her meds. A few hours later she realised it had been missing from the assortment of pills she'd been given, and called the nurse over. The nurse insisted that it wasn't on the list, so she wasn't supposed to have been given it. She pointed out that the neurologist had said she must never go without that one, but the nurse was equally insistent that it wasn't on the list.
"Could you do me a favour and turn that sheet over to the next page?" asked mum.
The nurse looked vaguely annoyed, but decided to humour her... and lo! the list continued on the next page with one further item - the pill she hadn't been given
So she now reckons that even if she doesn't have nurses on call at home, at least she and my dad have got a good chance of getting her medication right between the two of them
Keep giving her the hugs and regular calls/visits.That boy go raaaaaaa
