Maybe I should finally agree to help her out with her web site.
She's been hinting for a while that she could do with a hand getting it redesigned. I'm no designer (but no more is she) but I could get it all sorted out so she's not stuck maintaining it with MS FrontPage
Dunno if it would be practical to build a full-blown CMS for it... but I got a free full version of MS Expression Web when I went to a conference at MS Reading last year (about £260 retail) so she could have that. I could get the site all sorted out in nice HTML 4.01 with CSS so she can reskin it as she wishes... all usable and accessible, with a sound information architecture.
Then a bit of progressive enhancement with some nifty JS and Ajax, to make user interaction a bit smoother in places.
Then get Molly Holzschlag to check it out... she's lost a couple of cats to feline CRF and knows the site. Getting the site approved by somebody who provides advice to Microsoft on what the web's all about might impress her.
And of course, I can stick it all on my CV as a pro bono project
Right - card, token gift, £260-worth-of-software and a new web site it isComment
