The neighbours - as in, the ones who live underneath and also the ones adjacent to me through the back wall of the bathroom - are having some kind of party. This, of course, involves "music characterised by a repetitive beat", as described in the Criminal Justice And Public Order Act 1994 - an invidious piece of legislation which I strongly opposed at the time, and still oppose.
Given that I would be an arch-hypocrite to complain, I shall instead watch a film - Speed springs to mind, given that I have it sitting on my HD recorder, and it is without a shadow of a doubt the most excellent piece of hokum ever produced

Some silly bugger forced the door open half an inch and triggered the emergency brakes.
He didn't admit to it until we finally arrived at the ground floor and escaped.
